Passenger Information

Black & White Cabs was the target of a CryptoLocker Ransomware attack. The hackers have locked us out of our systems and are demanding a ransom in exchange for access. These systems include but are not limited to our dispatch software, call center equipment, and staff computers. Our financial and accounting systems, CRM and email was protected by our security measures. For more information on ransomware, head to the Australian Cyber Security Centre

It means that at this stage, we are unable to computer dispatch bookings. We have taken all of our booking portals down in the interest of protecting our passengers, drivers and staff. Our drivers are still completing street work (hail & rank) and private bookings.

It appears that our software and systems were the subject of this attack, rather than any data or personal information. Both our internal IT Team and engaged Cyber Security Consultants agree that there is no indication of a data leak. Should you ever receive a suspicious call or text, please refer to the resources provided by the Australian Cyber Security Centre.

At this stage, we don’t know. We’re working around the clock to restore our systems and will provide updates as often as possible.

If you are an NDIS customer, please get in touch with us via [email protected] and reference your account number. We have two staff members working full time to manage these bookings, and they will assist you. If you have a private driver please feel free to book with them. Payment will remain as per usual.
