Lest We Forget – Anzac Day Parade 2016

The 25th of April is a special day for many families around Australia and for the nation as a whole which is why Black & White Cabs is proud to play a part in it each year.

It is one of Australia’s most important national occasions because it marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

Black & White Cabs has a long standing history of involvement with the day. Frank Staiti is a driver who has been driving QLD Vets to Anzac Day for the last 15 years. Each year, Black & White Cabs assist in transporting War Veterans through the Parade in Brisbane. The company also assists the Vets throughout the year with Taxi travel using the Business Class
vehicles.

This year the drivers met up at the Albion McDonalds for 5:30am to grab some breakfast before picking up the Vets for the parade. Jeff Watson is a Black & White Cabs driver and says ‘I’ve had vets
burst into tears when I’ve told them their fare has already been paid in full by their service to the country… it’s well worth the $10 or $20 loss to ‘pass it forward’ each Anzac Day on the way to a
dawn service’.
