Apr/May 2005 - Uniforms Standards
Black & White Cabs General Manager, John Tighe, has directed the Road Supervisors to concentrate on ensuring all of our drivers are uniform compliant.
The uniform standards for all drivers can be found on pages 78 & 79 in the driver’s handbook.
As an example the general rule for the men’s uniform is company shirt, dark trousers or shorts of the dress variety ie no cargo type pants, board shorts or jeans.
Polo shirts whether they have a company logo or not are not part of the uniform and are banned forthwith. Shoes must be fully enclosed and for males socks must be worn. No open sandals or thongs will be tolerated.
Drivers flouting these rules may be put off the air for a time and those in serious breach may be sent home to change. There will be no amnesty for new drivers who will be expected to be in full uniform from the first day on the job.
Most drivers are magnificent in their standards and welcome the direction the company is taking as they are fully aware that the company with the highest standards wins the lions share of the work resulting in higher takings at the end of the day.
Any driver who has a query regarding the above is most welcome to call in to the office or phone 3860 1800 and all assistance will be given.
