Aug/Sep 2005 - Illegal Parking Crackdown
Taxi drivers leaving their vehicles unattended at Brisbane Airport will face severe fines due to a recent crackdown on illegal parking at the Airport. Drivers will be fined up to $66.00 each time their vehicle is found unattended on the cab rank while they use facilities inside the terminals.
BAC Landside Transport Commercial Manager, Kevin Morgan, said the restrictions are vital to creating a safe environment for all Airport users. “In our current high-security environment, which has resulted from Australia’s ongoing fight against global terrorism, we must ensure that all users of the Airport are kept safe at all times,” he said.
“In order to maintain this high level of security and safety, we must make certain every vehicle parked at the terminal face is parked in the correct location and has an identified driver.”
The parking restrictions are currently being implemented and will continue to be enforced indefinitely. For further information on the cab ranks for Brisbane Airport and parking fines, please contact Kevin Morgan on (07) 3406 3000.
