Smartcard system a winner for all  

Queensland Transport have reported that the introduction of the Smartcard for the Queensland Taxi Subsidy Scheme has been well received by Members of the scheme.  It has also delivered benefits for drivers and taxi operators alike with considerably less paperwork by not having to add up dozens of vouchers.

Payments are now made, generally weekly, into the Taxi Operator's bank account or operating account.  This improves cash flow and takes away the repetitive task of adding up of many dockets.

Black & White Cabs has reported a very high level of acceptance by Drivers who have embraced the new system with gusto.  Queensland Transport have advised that no more vouchers are to be accepted beyond 29th February, although dockets dated on or before this date will be accepted for lodgement during March, but no later than 31st March 2008.
